OK.. I know most certainly that you both are laughing right now ( I can literally see your faces right now "mom powers" ) just because this title will sound funny to you.
But, you know what, every mother is was a little girl some day (surprise!) .. like i was not born with a ladle in my hand, or with a full-on training on changing diapers, feeding and burping babies, cleaning, teaching....etc etc etc. So yeah, every mother is born the day her babies comes in her lap :)
For me- that day was when "K" came to this world !

I remember, there were so many relatives at the hospital- nanu, nani, dadu, bua, mamu,my massi, your massi (am sure am forgetting someone) and everybody was so so excited !
Now- brace yourself for one funny story, which am quiet sure I haven't shared with many earlier.
So, while I had to go for my last scan before delivery, my doctor told me with joy that am going to have a boy (I NEVER asked.. OK- just for record) and he was an old gentleman, god bless him..so I don't know what came to him but yes, he said it.
And I used to go to these scans with my Popsi (your nanu) so I came out and just like every time I told him how i had faired in an exam or in a competition, I told him I was going to have a boy- as if your were something that I achieved and had to be in my daily-report to my father (LOL). So, he was THE ONLY ONE who knew what I was going to have and I really thought your nanu can't keep a secret until that point (Oh, nani is going to be furious on him.. haha).
Cut to me being in labour room and you are coming along, and suddenly, my mom-brain kicks in (google what that means, am not teaching you in my blogs as well, duh) and I suddenly forgot what the doctor said I was going to have ! A boy or a girl ! And those days, there were a lot of news about children being swapped in the hospital and kidnapped, it was scary.. So, even when I was dying in pain, i was wanted to make sure I see your "thing" to be sure what I had ! And there you were- just pure bliss (Gosh, i still remember your pinkish face and can hear your cries as the nurse was taking care of you and just wrapping you up for us to meet .. *sob* *sob*)
"K" enters the world..
So, they announce to our anxious family "Mubarak ho- ladka hua hai" everybody was super happy and joyous that time although, we would have raised you the same even if you were a girl, so, no browny points there- just saying.. but yes, we felt so blessed that you were a healthy little baby and didn't kill me on your way out (LOL)
I needed something from your nani and nurse was just so busy that I thought I'll quickly go out and call you myself (I was by myself to take care of both of us for 2 days there and relatives were supposed to wait outside).
So, I ask another lady to look after you, and first I quickly went to washroom and then headed out of the room and started talking to my mom and massiji .. as soon as your nanu saw me, he came rushing shouting "munda kithe hai" - that's when it hit me- remember, i said kids were being swapped and kidnapped and I rushed back with full speed (even a turtle could beat me then but yeah, with all the strength I had) and for the first time, feeling scared as a mother .. never knew this feeling before.
Your papa was out of station to sign up his joining papers for a job that would change the course of his career that day , and the doctors had told him that you are going to come by the next day so he thought he'll go and be back as it a 2-hour drive one side, and he probably needs 2-3 hours there. But you came just as he was sitting in his office and about to sign his joining. So, he rushed back to see you but unfortunately, the khadoos nurse didn't let him and asked him to come tomorrow. So, everybody asked him to go home and rest since he had a tiring day (well, he didn't deliver the baby..did he!) but yeah, so he went and thought he'll meet you tomorrow. BUT when the nurse duty changed at night, the other nurse took you to meet nanu, dadu, nani (she knew she'll get some money- you know, just when people are happy they like to give little tips.. funny)
And then , Nanu, Dadu, and everyone who was there in the hospital met you for the first time ! Including your Mamu (LOL- papa was more upset about mamu having met you first, rather than him meeting you for the first time .. Indian relations you know .. phew !)
But long story short, we were so happy to welcome you to our family. And I thank Mata Rani for blessing me as your mother. That day, you strengthened my belief, on how one moment can change our life..forever !
LOVE
your mom
